Blagraves House Description
For over five hundred years travellers and locals alike have been coming to Blagraves House seeking solace for the inner man. Amongst their more notable visitors was Oliver Cromwell in 1648 and today a regular stream of discerning clients continues to follow in his footsteps. The surroundings are even better than might be expected from the first sight of this mullion-windowed, sturdy stone house, with low beamed ceilings and comfortably large open fires. A good set menu, which changes regularly, provides well presented meals at £13.95. The carte produces such dishes as warm mousseline of pike on an oyster and white wine sauce and the pan-fried venison goes well with the port and redcurrant sauce. Total bill excluding service and wine is likely to be around £25. Service is smart and swift.
