Bleeding Heart Description
On one hand, Bleeding Heart is presented as London's most romantic restaurant. On the other hand however, it's also the spot where you might come across bankers, lawyers and businessmen clinching deals over delicious French meals. This just goes to prove their versatility which blossoms delightfully in an elegant and refined atmosphere. Service is impeccable and the food is simply top notch; moreover the historic location in the Bleeding Heart Yard is another draw which altogether combines to make this a worthwhile setting for lunch or dinner.
The seasonal à la carte could offer dishes such as tian of crab with avocado, tomato and sauce gaspache followed by roast Landes black leg chicken with asparagus, pomme cocotte and madeira sauce. The French are renowned for their excellent desserts, manifested at the Bleeding Heart with the peanut butter parfait with bitter cherry sorbet or the selection of cheeses. The award winning wine list offers 450 choices from across the world, including those from their own vineyard in New Zealand.

My partner and I went for a meal last night having had the Bleeding Heart recommended by a friend. A friend indeed as the recommendation was truly well-founded. The staff were friendly and attentive without being over-bearing which is a trait of a lot of French restaurants. The wine list was excellent and the food, well, there are not words to describe the delicate flavours and the melt-in-the-mouth textures. The foie gras was heavenly, the crab tortellini with lobster consommé divine, the sea bass with lobster risotto amazing and the caramelised duck out of this world. The deserts were just as fantastic, and the cheese selection - if I could have managed it I would have tried - as that also looked delicious. Reasonably priced at around £60/head for three courses with good wine and aperitif. Lovely surroundings and a pleasant atmosphere.
