Blooms have new owners and Jerry's review from 2005 is completely out-of-date. I think Blooms have got their sparkle back as the most traditional and easily the best Jewish style eatery in London, if not the UK. I also had the salt beef; it was as good as I remembered from my childhood, when I went to Blooms with my parents. I did miss those pushy, Greek waiters and was told that having reached 80 years old they had finally retired. Blooms still have that ambiance and style that no other Jewish restaurant in the UK has a big recommend from me.

Having grown up in New York, I was VERY disappointed in Blooms. The salt beef was a few dry pieces of what we call pastrami on rye bread, the soup was fatty, salty, and the noodles were like mush. And I travelled almost an hour north of the City to get there. If there were any serious competition this place would not be able to stay in business. I would not come here again nor recommend anyone coming here. Way way overpriced for what you get.
