On Wednesday in February 2011, I just had a lovely meal with my family in this restaurant and the icing on the cake was to see Christopher Dean and Karen Barbara from Dancing on Ice and they had photo taken for people celebrating a birthday - how lovely!

We booked a table there to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary as we'd dined there for our first anniversary and had a lovely meal. We were greeted by a very harassed maître d' who ‘pointed’ our table out to us. We then sat down and around five minutes later were given menus and ordered drinks. I chose the calamari for starter and my husband had mushrooms on brioche toast in Roquefort sauce, which was lovely. My calamari was over cooked and tougher than old boots, the garlic mayonnaise was probably out of a jar to be honest. For mains I chose Moroccan chicken, with cous cous and roasted veggies, which sounded lovely. My husband had salmon en croute. My husband’s salmon was nice and he enjoyed it but my main wasn’t. The Moroccan chicken was basically a flattened chicken breast coated in what I am sure was balti curry paste. Where were the apricots, olives and almonds that you would expect from Moroccan chicken? However, the chicken was cooked nicely and was tender but the sauce was so overpowering it ruined the meal. I think the cous cous was probably quite nice too, although all I could taste was that sauce. We skipped desserts as I did not want to take any chances to be honest. The restaurant was heaving and I think the food suffered because of it. I was very disappointed and would not go back again. I think if they just scaled down their menu it would help, their menu is vast and on top of that they have daily specials too.
