Blubeckers at The Old Windmill Description
Blubeckers has an impressive chain of more than twenty restaurants spread across the South East and although the unifying factor in each is the superb food and drink they offer, each restaurant is distinct and stands out on its own, rather than a mindless factory assembly product. Consider for example the gorgeous buildings that they choose, every single one of them attractive, full of character and charm, creating a relaxing and casual atmosphere for drinkers and diners.
Tempting options for lunch include sandwiches served on thick white or malted brown bloomer, whereas light bites such as macaroni and cheese or handmade scotch egg are equally popular. The main menu brings you starters such as pork and apricot terrine followed by grilled lamb steak in mint and redcurrant sauce, served with rosemary roasted new potatoes. End with a plum tarte tatin and enjoy the wide range of wines, champagnes, beers and ales from their excellent bar.

This is a fine country restaurant. The lunch two course menu is excellent and fairly inexpensive. I prefer to have a starter and soup – delicious - and it comes with lightly toasted ciabatta bread. Try the Old Windmill, you won't regret it.

My aunt, aged 88, and I have today been reminiscing the Hanningfields, Stock and surrounding areas where I first started married life in 1966. The Old Windmill has changed beyond recognition - it had two bars - the saloon and the 'spit and sawdust' as we used to call the public bar. To our delight, today has been warm enough to dine outside on the patio under huge sun umbrellas. We were made so welcome by the young and enthusiastic staff. The food and choice were excellent and service was impeccable. It was a thoroughly enjoyable beautifully cooked meal and personal hygiene facilities were pristine. Congratulations! We will certainly be visiting again soon. Thank you for a super time.
