Blue Ginger Bar Restaurant

I had heard a lot about this restaurant. All fairly good things except that it was over priced. So after throwing caution (and my bank manager) to the wind I tried it last night with a few of my friends. I must say I was impressed with the ambience and the décor. Sadly, that’s where it all ended. For a start there were no decent parking facilities. Though we had taken the precaution of booking a table, it took over an hour. For starters we had also included the mixed grill and fish masala. Both turned out to be very disappointing. It was clear the kebabs were cooked very quickly, and charred on the outside, underdone on the inside and the fish had a look and taste of staleness about it. I must say the taste and flavour of the mixed grill was great. I suppose with the long queues outside, speed is more important than cooking the food properly. The main course, methi chicken was brilliant, the rest, potato raas, daal, saag and fish was all bland and disappointing. Again I would put this down to the management putting more emphasis on speed than quality. I am sure they are capable of turning out more flavoursome dishes but of course these would take time! I could not fault the sweets. The ice creams and kulfi were great too. Even the coffee was good.

All in all, for the price, I would expect a decent parking place, shorter waiting time, properly cooked food and personally, I prefer not to have sports blaring out on the TV screens (all around) when I am dining out! So yes, it is a great place to go to but the food quality does somewhat let it down. Sorry BG – but next time I can think of better quality restaurants to go to.
