Named after the financial capital of India, the Bombay Brasserie evokes the soul and spirit of this vibrant city, offering diners a glimpse into its many pleasant contradictions. Inside it remains lovely and calm, and some design marvels include plush carpets and chandeliers in the main dining area, and the conservatory with rich marble flooring and a show kitchen.

It's not hard to recognise that tone of familiarity in almost every Indian menu, but here the kitchen team take the creative route by making dishes sound colourful, and yes, tasty of course. So  starters are wittily named 'first impression', followed by 'aquatic stokes' like masala sea bass, and then 'master stokes' such as adraki duck roast with kumquat and ginger chutney and slow cooked lamb shanks in a delicate saffron curry. Vegetarian alternatives include okra with sesame seeds, haricot beans with pine nuts and tempered yellow lentils.
