REVIEWS OF Bosco Lounge

We went there a couple of Saturdays ago for the first time. The place was pretty busy with both drinkers and diners. We got seated and were told that there was a party of thirty coming in, and in order for our food not to be delayed we were told to try and get the food ordered before them. We ordered drinks while looking at the menu. Our waiter was very attentive. We got the oyster tempura and the squids as starters, both were very tasty and fresh. The waiter came back a couple of times to make sure we were okay with our drinks and to ask how the food was. For our mains we both got the sea bass, which was fresh and cooked very well with good flavours. The only thing I would say was the portion was a little on the small side, but that's being picky. On the positive side it left room for dessert. I went for the death by chocolate and things went wrong here. There was a problem with my dish, which I brought to the attention of the waiter, he apologized and within a minute the manager was over apologizing and asking if we wanted a drink for the inconvenience. The pudding turned up fairly quickly and this time it was spot on. Again the waiter came back to check that all was fine and pointed out that there would be no charge for it. Now kitchens make a mistake, that’s normal, but the way they dealt with the problem and the level of customer service was second to none. If they keep up the level of food and customer service the place will do really well. For London prices the meal was not expensive at all. We are not sure what the diner above ordered to have thought it was overpriced. We had drinks to start, starters, a main, a bottle of water and wine, and puddings all for forty-five each including service. To me that is the average London price at a good restaurant.

I had a disappointing and overpriced meal there and can't say we will be back. We ordered mezze, which seemed like recycled buffet food - a far cry from the wonderful Greek food we expected. The main course was similarly uninspired and the calf seemed under seasoned. While mentioning the problems with the food to the waiter, there was no manager coming around to check with us. Just a 'sorry' and that was it. We left a complaint with the receptionist, including our phone number and are still awaiting a call. We’d probably rate them low on customer service, taste and value for money. As a bar, it seems fine but for fine dining, which we'd expected at these prices, there are much better options in Surbiton.
