Boulters Restaurant & Bar Description
Boulters Restaurant occupies an iconic spot on the River Thames, and while its location on Boulters Lock Island is enough to draw people, it is nevertheless the fresh modern British food prepared there with consummate skill, which appeals largely. Diners are offered sparkling river views along with deliciously prepared meals in the downstairs restaurant while the terrace is delightful and provides a homey atmosphere with rustic pub classics.
The menu features such dishes as cod brandade mousse with hand dived Scottish scallops and caviar amongst starters, followed by pan roasted breast of Telmara farm duck with creamed Savoy cabbage and Morteaux sausage for a main course. From the selection of desserts, the white chocolate bavarois with pistachio ice cream and crystallised flowers stands out eminently. The bar offers dishes such as scotch quail eggs, Brixham fish pie with smoked haddock and salmon topped with creamed potatoes and a good selection of ice creams and sorbets. Wines at Boulters are carefully selected to complement the diverse and seasonal menu.
Fixed Lunch
- £12.50 (2 courses) to £17.50 (3 courses), Tues - Sat
Your Reviews of Boulters Restaurant & Bar
Jay (14 October 2009)
I have just moved into the area, from London, so decided to try out Boulter's Restaurant with some really good friends. We are just around the corner, so we all walked ... along the river. What a fantastic way to start the evening. I was a little apprehensive at first, I had done a reccy the day before and I thought the interior design was a little, well, straight/sterile. I wasn't sure what to expect. For a place steeped in so much history it could have been decked out a little warmer and possibly more inviting, I felt. But that was very quickly forgotten with the absolutely stunning view. The large windows really make you feel like you're dining on the river, literally floating. I'm glad to say the food was as good as the view. Very impressive. That's a huge compliment considering I’ve eaten in some of the finest restaurants in London. To top it off, for such good food and the amazing views, you could easily add 30%- 40% extra to your bill in London! Will I go again? You bet I will! It was First Class.
