Started by Justin Green and David Graham, the bar and grill sets out with a very high benchmark - simple, tasty food like David's mum used to make. Little wonder then, the most important ingredient in all their dishes is love - love for cooking, love for eating and by extension, love for the diner.

Using only the finest ingredients sourced from a trusted group of farmers and suppliers, the team ensures that there is no compromise on quality. The beef is hand reared, grass fed and hung to bring out its natural texture and flavour. They also use fish caught locally rather than exotic breeds shipped from afar. To them, this represents 'fine dining'.

If mum's cooking is the yardstick, then even more important than the quality of ingredients is the way it is served. Again, the team are proud that they offer cheerful and relaxed service in stylish ambience.

Care and eye for detail are reflected in their list of wines and champagnes too, many of which are produced in independent vineyards. They taste all of these in-house and offer over sixteen varieties by the glass. There is also an impressive list of armagnacs, liqueurs and single malt whiskies.

The Bar and Grill is increasingly gaining reputation as the best place for steaks. Other well loved fare is the drunken duck and wild county rabbit as well as pan fried sea bass. They offer a fish special every day and have sandwiches and salads right through the day.
