Box Tree Restaurant, The Description

In the historic south-west corner of the Cotswolds, high above Stroud on the wilds of Rodborough Common, stands the handsome Bear of Rodborough Hotel. Originally built in the 17th century, this former coaching inn provided a much appreciated resting-place on the main coaching route from Gloucester to London. To this day it offers a warm welcome to all. Set in 300 acres of National Trust land, the Bear provides a luxurious retreat where you can enjoy good food and drink while relaxing in a homely and friendly atmosphere.

The stone-arched dining room is softened by luxuriant drapes and paintings that reflect the rural surroundings, providing a stylish environment for a memorable dining experience. Awarded one AA Red Rosette for the quality of its food and service, the Box Tree has a reputation as a centre of excellence for food and wine, one of the better places in the area.
