We have stayed at Longhirst hall a couple of times in the last two years so can't say we are regular visitors. We have always found the restaurant very pleasant with live piano on Friday and Saturday nights. Service is always prompt and friendly without becoming irritating. Food is lovely and well presented with an interesting choice of local produce. One small criticism, I really hated the lack of tablecloths, the dining experience would be so much better if the table was properly presented it makes it feel like a canteen without table linen.
