Bradley's - Huddersfield
84 Fitzwilliam Street, Huddersfield, HD1 5BB
Bradley's is one of those eating institutions that recognises the first rule of restaurants - give the customer what he wants. This they do with great skill, and it does not stop at the food. Andrew Bradley's cheerful personality pervades, the lighting is atmospheric, the staff friendly and efficient. So we are halfway there before we even start to consider the food. The prime time menu is designed to cover most eventualities, with dishes drawn from a menu that nicely brings together perfidious Albion with a sunnier maritime clime. Eat three courses from the prime time menu, add a bottle of wine from the well travelled list and chances are you will catch a gleam of satisfaction in your partner's eyes that says it all.Bradley's is one of those eating institutions that recognises the first rule of restaurants - give the customer what he wants. REVIEWS OF Bradley's - Huddersfield
Gingernut (28 August 2011)
We ate there on Thursday 25th August 2011. I can only say it was a mixed experience. The starter of salmon fishcake was nice enough, though too salty, and I speak as a man who loves salt. the hollandaise sauce accompanying it was the real deal and no complaints there.
The risotto with mushrooms and parmesan was edible, but whatever it was, it was not a risotto. The rice was dry and separate, more like a pilaff, and there were but a few token slices of supermarket mushrooms and a hint of parmesan. Given the cheapness of the raw ingredients, the serving was stingy, not that i would have wanted more of what was a travesty of risotto. Fellow diners were generally satisfied - chips were tasty and probably fried in dripping as they should be, salmon was not overcooked, though the steak was not rare as requested. Waiting staff were very friendly and helpful. I would summarise the experience as no more than (just) acceptable and I would not eat there again.
Richard (6 March 2011)
I went to Bradley’s last night and as usual the experience was very good. Andrew, the proprietor/maitre de is very attentive and the food was great as was the service, and indeed the bill. This is one of the few restaurants I eat that gets it right every time and I never feel that I have been stiffed.

Nando's - Huddersfield
With quality food, friendly staff, quick service and excellent value for money, Nando's is a great place to eat. Don't expect identikit, pre-fab restaurant interiors which are usually a staple of the larger chains; each restaurant is tailored to its local surroundings and customers, offering up a unique restaurant experience to go with the equally unique taste of legendary, Portuguese, Peri-Peri chicken.
