Brasserie 10/16 Description
A repeat of the familiar formula at the flourishing Brasserie in Hawarden, and one that has met with the same success. The materials show indications of good sourcing and the whole is backed up with friendly and efficient service.
Starters could run to: chicken and shrimp nam rolls, sweet chilli dipping sauce; salt beef, beetroot and horseradish; goats cheese and caramelised onion tart; winter salad leaves, parsnip crisps, pomegranate dressing.
Their mains include: Thai baked sea bass with fragrant rice; rump of lamb, garlic mash, buttered cabbage, bacon, rosemary jus; 10-16 hamburger, hand cut fat chips, home made pickles; confit duck leg, parsnip puree, honey roast winter vegetables.
Their large a la carte menu features starters from £3.75 and mains from £8.95. From Sunday to Thursday their fixed price two course menu is also available - at £9.95 per person this is exceptional value. Possibly even better value is on Monday and Wednesday evenings when you can enjoy the two course menu for £14.95 a head with a half bottle of wine per person included.
And to finish: Sachertorte with raspberry sauce; sticky toffee pudding, toffee sauce; tarte aux pommes and a selection of local Cheshire Farm's award winning ice-creams and sorbets.
A wine list spreads wide and is sensibly priced, with six wines between £9.95 and £12.95.

- £9.95 (2 courses)

Luke Thomas (1 April 2008)
A two course lunch, at £6.90 per person - excellent value for money. We enjoyed the meal and great service.
Peter Baker (10 May 2007)
In my view, as good as you can get in Chester, not stuck in a rut like so many other places, food more inventive and staff very pleasant, keep up the good work.
