Brasserie @ 8 Kings Road Description
Located in the Southsea area of Portsmouth - home of The Royal Navy and famous warships such as HMS Victory and the Mary Rose - the Michelin Guide recommended restaurant at 8 Kings Road can hardly fail to impress. It's not just about the interior, but the food that is really good, offering the best in British cooking and providing the epicurean trendies of Hampshire with a place to go, and be happy.
Starters of marinated tuna roll, or crispy belly of pork quickly set a standard that is maintained throughout the meal, where main courses of roast loin of venison or ballotine chicken do not allow themselves to be overshadowed by grilled rib eye steak.
Seated in such august surroundings more reminiscent of a stately home than even a very upmarket former bank you may feel inspired by thoughts of revenge for punitive overdrafts long past to splurge on the wine, a task that would not be difficult with some 250 bins from which to choose, but many at kindly prices that will make your day.

We had a great Sunday roast at 8 Kings Road. The atmosphere was lovely and it's great for the families. We had a little kids with us and there is a different lower price for the kids. The food was so delicious – definitely the best Sunday lunch we had in last few months. They do a ‘dine with wine’ which is £14.95 for a 2 course meal plus a house wine, and £17.95 for 3 course meal with wine. Great prices! We’re going back next Sunday and taking our friends. Well done 8 Kings Road!

What a fantastic find! We had a great night with a live Ratpack Music at 8 Kings Road on a Friday night. The atmosphere was excellent, the food was some of the best food we've ever received and the staff were great and made us particularly welcome. Everyone deserves to try this place at least once.
