Brasserie Chez Gerard - Cambridge Description
This is a place for the cool cookies, modern, air-conditioned, stylish and well placed in Bridge Street. An original starter might be dandelion leaves with a poached egg, bacon lardoons and croutons, or you might prefer the well-tried snails baked in garlic butter.
The roasted rack of lamb with a mustard and herb crust and rosemary jus may be a time-honoured suspect but it takes on a special quality at Chez Gerard.
Desserts follow much the same pattern and whilst some may think the menu range to be out of keeping with the very up-front modern ambience, the answer is to be found in the quality of both presentation and ingredients.
A Gallic leaning wine list offers some interesting options in the upper brackets, with a very drinkable house wine at £10.60.
