Brasserie Max

The Firmdale Hotel collection is well-known for their unique design and features where modern and antique elements combine gracefully, and the Covent Garden Hotel captures this signature style perfectly. The in-house Brasserie Max is proving to be popular with the theatre crowd partly owing to the hotel's location in the heart of the theatre district.

Their cooking is a contemporary spin on familiar dishes like smoked salmon with walnut rye, celeriac remoulade and caviar, and pheasant, duck and chestnut spring roll with spiced red wine chutney. Fresh and vibrant ingredients do most of the talking among main courses such as prawn, smoked haddock, scallop and spinach fish pie, and loin of pork with gingered quince, roast pumpkin and Marsala jus, and for a touch of the oriental turn to a Thai green curry with shitake, pak choi, sweet potato, fried tofu and sticky rice. Those who profess their love for all things sweet might be tempted to try a Valrohna chocolate and amaretto trifle, or white chocolate and blood orange panacotta.
