Brasserie Restaurant at The Beeches Hotel Description

Though Grimsby has been known for more than fifteen years as Europe's food town, the seaport is also surrounded by the wonderful Lincolnshire wolds, sparkling streams, and country inns such as The Beeches Hotel, that make the area a favourite with families and children.

There are eighteen comfortable ensuite bedrooms, and an airy and spacious Brasserie Restaurant on the ground floor. Head Chef David Ramakers and his dedicated team rely on fresh, local produce to offer a regularly changing British menu with European and French influences.

The dishes are almost always of excellent quality, and the place offers a simple yet relaxed environment in which to enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner. So what's on offer? A starter of a salad of confit of duck leg is served with sugar snap peas and balsamic dressing, and Thai style smoked haddock fishcakes appear with herb mayonnaise. More substantial dishes include char-grilled calves' liver with caramelised apples and onions, and buttered tagliatelle with roasted vegetables and a tarragon cream sauce.

The modern bar and lounge is a popular meeting place for both Grimbarians and guests.

Your Reviews of Brasserie Restaurant at The Beeches Hotel

SPD (14 January 2008)

I have eaten numerous times there over the last six months, and have always found the meals to be of excellent quality and having an uncanny consistency. But if you are staying there for long, you may occasionally need to go elsewhere, for a change,as apart from seasonal variations, the menu does not change very much from week to week. But if you have any personal preferences,I have always found the restaurant very accommodating and the staff simply delightful. The restaurant has a simple, yet tasteful and relaxed environment, ideal for a special occasion. It is by far the best I have been to in Grimsby to date.

Fifi (10 January 2008)

Not that there is much choice, but this is the best place to eat in Grimsby, just beating the Granary into second place because of the plusher surroundings and wider menu. We have eaten here a few times with friends. The wine list and choice are excellent, along with great service. I would highly recommend, but make sure you book well in advance - two weeks if you want to dine on a Saturday evening.
