Brasserie Restaurant, The Description
Located in conservation parkland overlooking Rutland Water, Barnsdale Hall is a warm and delightful hotel in the smallest county of the United Kingdom. The peaceful haven offers the perfect ambience for a few days of rest and relaxation.
From comfortable bedrooms that offer lovely views, to the health spa and leisure club, Barnsdale's guests are truly spoilt for choice. Talking about the food, the Brasserie Restaurant presents a range of seasonal dishes from around the world that are created from local produce whenever possible.
The à la carte, for example, greets you with starters of seared king scallops, pancetta, cauliflower puree and red wine, and oriental duck spring rolls with a mango and papaya salsa and sweet chilli and soy dip. For the main event look out for crispy salmon steak accompanied by Sri Lankan curried potatoes and spinach, and honey-roasted rump of lamb with dauphinoise potatoes and roasted root vegetables. Great British grills and a selection of lighter dishes and desserts are always available.
Barnsdale Hall caters for weddings and receptions.
Your Reviews of Brasserie Restaurant, The
Jane Knowles (22 August 2008)
I booked a table at the Barnsdale Hall Hotel restaurant and was greatly surprised at what I found there. The menu had a great choice and is priced sensibly. The service we received was second to none and nothing was too much trouble. The view over the Rutland Waters is fantastic. I cannot wait to go back.
Claire Sheridan (4 September 2006)
After browsing the website I decide to take my partner there for dinner as a treat. The menu looked appetizing and the fact there was a dress code led me to believe it would be well worth the effort. However, I could not have been more disappointed it was little more than a conservatory bolted on to the side of a hotel bar. After walking through a crowd of football shirted clientele strewn across sofas stuffing their faces with pizza to get to it, we were so underwhelmed I was all set to turn round and walk straight back out again, against my better judgment I was talked into staying (my partner trying to make me feel better, we were both really looking forward to it). The food to be fair was OK and well presented albeit on paper table cloths! A rather random choice of ambient music also played constantly and rather loudly. I would not go back at any price.
