Brasserie, The Description
Sitting alongside several other restaurants, boutiques and general stores, this elegant dining destination, The Brasserie, overlooks the leafy space of Wandsworth Common The look inside is both stylish and intimate, while you should be able to enjoy pleasant views from many of the tables.
An emphasis is placed on fresh produce and ingredients are sourced locally wherever possible. The menu changes four times a year to make the most of what the seasons have to offer. Dishes such as beef burger with cheese and bacon, pork fillet wrapped in pancetta or their special organic salmon with purple sprouting broccoli, tomato and lemon dressing are not only tasty but reasonably priced as well.
Their food is carefully designed to appeal to all tastes, and there are options for vegetarians and children too. Starters might offer salt cod fritters with mayonnaise and duck liver parfait with rhubarb, Bramley apple and mint chutney. The main course repertoire extends to rib-eye steaks, chunky chips and béarnaise, and spring vegetable with spinach lasagne.
Desserts are homemade and the old fashioned bread and butter or sticky toffee puddings could provide a fitting finale. For those fancying something lighter, they have a selection of bar snacks and sharing platters available throughout the day. The Brasserie caters for private diners, birthday parties and offers al fresco dining too.
