Bretts Fish Restaurant

Tradition, quality and service separate Bretts from other restaurants specialising in fish and chips. Where else can you find a 1930s oak panelled restaurant specialising in gourmet standard haddock and chips in a pair of ivy covered Victorian terrace houses with an award winning garden?

Bretts has received many excellent reviews in the quality papers at home and abroad and the numerous entries in the guestbook from visitors from outside the UK show how far people have travelled to dine there.  Now in its 87th year, Bretts has been owned and managed by Peter and Anne Scott since 1999.

It is frequented by the cricketing media and fans, who reserve their tables many months in advance to make sure of a table during the Headingley Test Matches, it is better to book before going.

While Icelandic haddock with chips from Lincolnshire Maris Piper potatoes is the signature dish, there is a varied selection of other fish dishes and a number of items suitable for non fish eaters and vegetarians, complemented by a small, but carefully chosen, wine list.

Bretts Takeaway next door is open daily from 11.30 am to 10.00 pm, except for Monday and Tuesday lunchtimes.
