The Brixtonian Havana Club has an interesting and lively bar area that boasts a choice of 200 rums and a great bar menu such as chicken curry, avocado salad with salt fish & Johnny cakes for just £5.50. Likewise the brightly decorated main restaurant serves Caribbean cuisine, with the menu changing on a monthly basis to concentrate on the culinary delights of different Caribbean islands. Expect quality dishes such as pork and fresh herb meatballs with a tomato and apricot concasse, followed by blackened red fish or chicken thigh casserole with prunes and oranges. The hottest of hot food and barmen, what more would you want - oh, the best rum cocktails in the world. I am in Canada and wish I was in Brixton - right now.

The food was excellent and the service even better - the barmen were quite tasty too! I think I will have to make this a monthly haunt to see what is new on the menu!
