Bukhara Restaurant Description
Bukhara Restaurant serves dishes the Indian subcontinent is famous for all over the world, so if you wish to get introduced to tasty food in a comfortable and friendly atmosphere head to Preston New Road where they specialise in traditional tandoori dishes, curries, kebab, biryani, and chicken tikka.
Start with the till mill jhinga, king prawns dusted with sesame seeds and grilled on charcoal, or go for the mixed grill to begin your gastronomic journey. Mains of Lahori chicken with fresh tomatoes, onions, ginger and green chillies; a flavoursome combination of lamb and okra; diced Bombay potatoes, or the Madras, korma and bhuna varieties can be ordered medium or hot. The special dish of stuffed leg of lamb serves four people and is a treat to both the eyes and palate. Naan bread and pilau rice can be had along with the main course.
The dessert list consists of a range of tempting choices but the Indian treats of rassomalai, firni and matka kulfi help sign off the meal in style.

I absolutely love this restaurant and have visited several times over the past couple of years. I live twenty five miles away and so usually go there as a treat. It's definitely worth the fifty mile round trip. They have an exciting menu, a far cry from the somewhat tired and mediocre local menus. The chefs are mainly young and obviously innovative. I love the various Afghan dishes, all served with a contemporary twist. Who's ever eaten biriyani served in a pie dish with a golden, buttery, perfectly baked pastry case on top? Yum, delicious! Yes, it's most definitely an exciting menu. The atmosphere in the restaurant is bubbly and friendly. The waiters are competent and efficient and the service is reliable and speedy. It's a huge plus for my husband and I that no alcohol is served here. We really appreciate being able to relax in an environment that's unlikely to attract your 'lager and an Indian' type. Only wish there were more alcohol free restaurants! It's most definitely a family friendly environment. We're definitely big curry fans but for those who are used to pared down Indian food, I'd suggest ordering something a little milder than you're used to. Many of the clientele are second-third generation British Asians and the food reflects this. Once again, can't recommend this place enough.

I drove past this place and decided to go back and give it a try - glad we did - great service and authentic tasty Indian food made with fresh ingredients. Word of warning, this place is alcohol free, which was fine for us but others might not like. There is a nice bustling atmosphere, would definitely go again.
