Butler's Restaurant Description

Butler's Restaurant is part of a hotel, which has been formed after combining two elegant 17th century country houses, and then adding the odd wing or two in good taste. The Park House can be found on the edge of the market town of Shifnal, and serves as an ideal base to explore the outstanding countryside and attractions in and around Shropshire.

The overall ambience is one of quiet opulence, and Butler's provides a good range of comfortably-priced English and Continental dishes, served well and supported by an excellent wine list that embraces Old World and the New.

On the à la carte, peppered fillet of beef is pan-fried and paired with stilton and red onion salad, while main courses of pork fillet appear with crushed potatoes, creamed cabbage and bacon, crispy crackling, candied apples and calvados cream Grilled fillets of lemon sole are served with potted shrimps, saffron potatoes, asparagus and baby leeks, crab and tarragon velouté.

With its high backed leather chairs, solid wooden tables and comfortable sofas, the bar is a great place to visit for a drink.

Your Reviews of Butler's Restaurant

Priya (26 October 2008)

My family and I just had dinner at the Butler's restaurant this evening. The place looked very attractive on the website, but unfortunately the atmosphere in the restaurant wasn't great though the members of staff were quite friendly. We ordered soup but unfortunately the sodium levels were far too high to make it palatable. We complained and were offered another starter, which we refused as we were already full and still had our main course to come. At the end of the evening we were still billed £15 for the soup, which we couldn't have. I'm afraid Butler's restaurant is going to be a thumbs-down for us. Maybe we just picked the wrong evening to visit.

We ate there by chance after stumbling upon the Park House Hotel; Butlers Restaurant is part of the hotel, and what a find it was! The food and the quality of the produce were amazing - I had the scallops and fillet steak. Everything goes together so well, the portions weren’t small, but they don’t overload your plate, and the service was friendly and helpful. It’s a real beautiful place and you can enjoy the relaxed bar atmosphere or the more ‘posh’ dinner atmosphere in the restaurant. This is a lovely spot to treat yourselves if you want really great food.
