Cabbage Hall Description

After setting up some of Manchester's most iconic restaurants of recent years, Chef Francis Carroll has now moved to the Cheshire countryside, where his new venture, Cabbage Hall, can be found in a lovingly restored 18th century inn - wonderfully bringing together contemporary and baroque styling to present customers with an elegant dining experience.

Weddings and events are well catered for and a pretty garden presents diners with the opportunity to dine al fresco when the weather permits. Guests can enjoy an aperitif or cocktail in the lounge area before proceeding to the dining room where beautifully cooked French English cuisine is served with imagination and flair.

Consider dishes such as crispy duck and watercress salad with plum dressing, fillet of Aberdeen Angus 'rossini' with foie gras and a Madeira truffle sauce, lobster Thermidor with frites, and risotto of pea and asparagus. A selection of carefully chosen wines with numbers that include Chateau Petrus and Tignanello go well with the food.

Your Reviews of Cabbage Hall

Tazbabes (6 November 2009)

Fantastic food, surroundings and staff - a pleasure to visit with relaxed surroundings and beautiful décor. It’s worth a visit.

Derek (17 April 2009)

We had our wedding anniversary dinner at the Cabbage Hall on Easter Monday and it was excellent. The ambiance of the restaurant, together with excellent service and food made it a most enjoyable evening. The menu is interesting especially the plates to share as starters and the wine list was reasonably priced and offered a good selection.

The unusual name of 'The Frozen Mop' is reputed to come from a local legend involving a cleaner and a cold winter's night, but apparently there are several versions of the story and the real attribution ...
