Cafe du Village has a delightful setting - a stylish restaurant in the ultimate shopping and leisure destination in Britain  and a terrace for an al fresco meal on a sunny day. Be warned - you may easily become oblivious to the scurry and hype at Bluewater Shopping Centre. Taking the best elements of its parent restaurant in Covent Garden, the kitchen exhibits a strong preference for seasonal and local produce.

With a 'brasserie' label expect some comfort classics such as smoked haddock fishcake with lemon and chive sauce; beer battered fish and chips with minted mushy peas and tartar sauce, and baked spinach and goats' cheese tart. These could be preceded by a charcuterie sharing plate of salami, Parma ham, chorizo and homemade pickles.

Shopaholics tend to drop in for a fortifying steak and sweet red onion baguette or grilled tuna niçoise salad before heading out to loosen their purse strings. Little shoppers can choose from their own colourful menu and enjoy the endless drinks on offer.
