Cafe Lowrey Description

Welcome to this informal café-style restaurant in a double-fronted shop conversion, located in comfortable green-belt surroundings.

Chefs have come and gone here but the current occupant, to whom one can only wish a long and happy stay, is David Ward.

The place is part of Terence Layburne's network of eating places and specialises in a blend of traditional and contemporary thought in so far as the menu is concerned. From seared scallops with black bean vinaigrette one could move to slow-cooked shoulder of lamb with supporting vegetables.

There is a modest wine list, both in extent and price. House wines hover around the £10 mark.

It’s my favourite bistro as the food and service are excellent and the atmosphere relaxed. The wine list is great and offers something for all tastes. The setting is also perfect. The place is quiet but in a great location, with plenty of parking space.
