The concise but hearty selection of dishes capture the essence of what Italian food should be, flavoursome, fresh and carefully balancing different ingredients. So if you're after some straightforward cooking that is wholly satisfying try smoked salmon, calamari fritti, bruschetta with goats' cheese and pepper, grilled marinated chicken breast, prime sirloin steak or lamb cutlets. Bring those chocolately dreams to life at dessert time with a chocolate royal of rich chocolate mousse on a dark chocolate cake topped with light and dark chocolate flakes.

On Sunday in February 2011 along with three other family members, I went to the Cafe Mode after seeing a show in Covent Garden. From the welcoming cheery greeting, to the final good-bye, the experience was a sheer delight. The food was superb, the service tremendous, and the value for a central West End eating place, was staggering. Diners around us were obviously feeling the same judging by the empty dishes and general ambience being shown. We will doubtless return and this cafe is on my all-time good choices.

Visited this gem of a restaurant with some friends recently, and I can't speak highly enough of it. Great food (especially the pasta), excellent service and very reasonable prices. Will definitely be going back!
