Cambio De Tercio
163 Old Brompton Road, London, SW5 0LJ
Since their opening in June 1995, Abel Lusa and his then partner David Rivero had a clear idea of not being just another tapas bar in London. They wanted to offer something completely different to the existing Spanish restaurants. Inspired by the large variety and richness of traditional cuisine, they incorporated a new way of working and gave it a personal touch. Cambio De Tercio offers diners authentic food in a contemporary and friendly setting. Partridge consommé soup, partridge breast raviolis, wild mushrooms, and quail's egg, grilled red tuna, sesame seeds crust, caramelized shallots, sweet piquillo peppers, and char grilled baby lamb cutlets, aubergine puree, manzanilla green olives, and glazed potatoes are some of the delectable dishes that feature on the extensive menu.Since their opening in June 1995, Abel Lusa and his then partner David Rivero had a clear idea of not being just another tapas bar in London. REVIEWS OF Cambio De Tercio
Ben Colgate (10 March 2010)
I have eaten at this restaurant on numerous occasions. Whilst not cheap, it is fantastic, and I will continue to go back to it. It has imaginative food and fantastic wines and the most courteous and knowledgeable staff. It has a very Spanish atmosphere.
Ali Wood (5 August 2005)
I used to be a big fan of this restaurant, but won't be going back again. I took a client there on 26th July and found the whole experience very uncomfortable.
The food was still good, although with a tendency to be overly fussy at times. However, the waiters stood over us the whole time, unnecessarily topping up our glasses, clearing plates before we had finished each course and making us feel like they wanted us to get out so that they could reuse the table. I am a big fan of unobtrusive attentive service but this really felt like harassment!
As I was with a client I did not make a fuss at the time, but the next day I wrote to the restaurant manager to advise them of my bad experience. I have received no response. If you are looking for excellent Spanish cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere then I would suggest you go elsewhere!
