Camelot Restaurant Description
The mere mention of Camelot conjures up much mythological mystery with images of Excalibur, Holy Grail, round table and King Arthur and his wife Guinevere, but within the plush confines of the Five Lakes Hotel is a namesake restaurant better known for its classic-chic décor and calm atmosphere.
On the food side nothing speaks better for commitment to local produce than seared scallops with Jerusalem artichoke puree, beetroot salad and hazelnut butter, and supreme of guinea fowl. Brace yourself for some adventure as duck breast teams up with smoked bacon, and a fricassée of wild mushrooms and broccoli are encased in a puff pastry accompanied by garlic potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Finally desserts of orange meringue tart and walnut brownies garner significant attention amongst others.
Teeing off at the golf course and taking that much delayed lazy Sunday leisure break are some of the few things that persistently draw guests to the Five Lakes Hotel.

One of the strangest restaurants that I have ever visited. Very strange decor of badly painted pictures of old famous people and footballers dressed up in Medieval costumes.
We went mid week and the food was not to good. Was a buffet style but reminded me somewhat of school/hospital dinners. Random bits of meat in a sauce.
The restaurant had no atmosphere whatsoever and the staff were so keen to take your plate away that they actually took mine when I hadn't finished. I had just put my knife and fork on the plate to take a sip of wine.
Overall a very strange experience. Save your money and go to a Harvester. Better food, more of it and a better atmosphere. What more can I say????

Absolutely amazing Sunday carvery for around £17ish, 3 courses, all you can eat with lovely fresh desserts. Very pleasant service, surroundings are a bit odd as the theme is Camelot, but it is an enjoyable place to sit. Views of the golf courses and gardens are beautiful. We were married here and would recommend just an informal dinner or a wedding here.
