Camino
3 Varnisher's Yard, Regent Quarter, King's Cross, London, N1 9FD
With its overtones of flamenco, colour, excitement and Spanish cuisine who better to promote Camino Kings Cross than a man whose quarter century attachment to Spain has given him an enthusiasm that projects throughout the whole operation. There are few concessions to other cuisines, and such is the way of Spanish food that tapas open the menu, closely followed by starters that embrace Spanish ham, chorizo and seafood. Main courses certainly make good use of local ingredients with a char-grilled free-range chicken breast, 28 day aged rib-eye or a 15 day aged fillet steak. On the side, sautéed piquillo peppers with white wine and garlic. Finish with the rather amusing molten hot chocolate pudding with cinnamon, star anise and lemon zest ice cream. With its overtones of flamenco, colour, excitement and Spanish cuisine who better to promote Camino Kings Cross than a man whose quarter century attachment to Spain has given him an enthusiasm that projects throughout the whole operation.

REVIEWS OF Camino
Anco (10 November 2008)
We had the most fantastic experience at Camino. The restaurants interior was great and their service was great. The menu offered a variety of dishes and the food was delicious. It was good value for money, and I would recommend them.
Meredith (8 March 2008)
This is a disappointing spot - I ordered tostados payes con queso manchego. First my order was presented with bits of ham in it when I didn't ask for it and it was not specified. The menu said 'con queso manchego o jamon serrano, not 'y' jamon serrano - not ideal for a vegetarian. Then, when they re did it, it was extremely small and I paid £3.25. If this was offered anywhere in the world, there would be a diner mutiny. It is very expensive for what I received and it was served with lettuce and balsamic vinegar - fine for lunch or dinner, but not at 9.30am. I will not be hurrying back there.
