Canton Description

Canton is one of the more basic Chinatown restaurants. Rather than a place to linger over dinner, its popular with the hasty pre and post pub and theatre crowd looking for a well priced but enjoyable meal to indulge in and then move on. The menu is less extensive than many of its fellow restaurants but portions are generous and the duck as seen hanging in the window on arrival is a speciality definitely worth trying.

I think this is by far the most authentic and unique Chinese restaurant in Chinatown. No frills or fancies but the best Chinese food of its kind. Long may it prosper.

Wandering around aimlessly (7 December 2007)

Canton has essentially been the same for the last 20 years. It consistently serves good food at good prices but don't expect any frills or fancy food. For those times when you are just hungry!
