Canton is one of the more basic Chinatown restaurants. Rather than a place to linger over dinner, its popular with the hasty pre and post pub and theatre crowd looking for a well priced but enjoyable meal to indulge in and then move on. The menu is less extensive than many of its fellow restaurants but portions are generous and the duck as seen hanging in the window on arrival is a speciality definitely worth trying. I can't recommend Canton highly enough. I have eaten here for many years and have never been disappointed. I have had most things on the menu over the years, but my personal favourite is fresh crab in black bean sauce. Finger licking good!

I think this is by far the most authentic and unique Chinese restaurant in Chinatown. No frills or fancies but the best Chinese food of its kind. Long may it prosper.
