Carlton Bore Description
Award winning chef Scott Hessel and his team from the renowned Old Bore at Rishworth, West Yorkshire, opened the second 'Bore' restaurant and bar in March 2008. The innovative menu ranges from pub classics to restaurant style dishes and promises an outstanding meal in a welcoming, relaxed manner.
Starters from the menu may include homemade French style black pudding and slow braised pigs cheek, lentils and red wine sauce or Oriental soft shell crab salad, pak choy, soy and ginger. Mains could usher in classic fish pie topped with mash and Hawes Wensleydale cheese or trio of Yorkshire lamb, roast fillet, mini shepherds pie and slow cooked breast, braised red cabbage, hot pot potatoes and thyme baby onions. Individual pear and almond frangipane tart, apple pie ice cream, rich jersey cream and cat's tongue biscuits, and creamy vanilla rice pudding, gingerbread crumble and warm poached Marjorie plums could provide the crowning glory.

The Carlton Bore is a lovely village pub in Carlton Husthwaite just off the A19. Before Scott Hessel got hold of it, it was a soulless place with hardly any visitors. It's now extremely welcoming in both décor, and staff and is serving up some of the best food around. Sunday lunches are becoming so popular it is very wise to book ahead. If you want a lovely evening out and need to impress, you can do no better. Equally a relaxing lunch is just as easily done. The food, place and members of staff are all fantastic, and you must go.

We just had a fantastic meal there. The members of staff were wonderful and friendly and the food was second to none. We will be back, and thank you for a wonderful dining experience
