I just returned from Casa Mia Grande. I’d ordered sardines which were sadly, very soggy, as if they had been sat in liquid in the fridge all day. Then the sirloin steak and chips were exceptionally tough. To be fair, my wife pronounced her sea bass as being edible, but she agreed with me on the sardines. It was easy to get a table on a Saturday night when everywhere else was full. The restaurant was barely one third full in the end - a real shame.

I did not have a good experience there - first, our table booked for 9.30PM was not ready until after 10. On a busy Saturday night I can usually let this go but other couples were seated in the bar area and given menus whilst we were ignored.

We asked thrice if we could order and finally at 10.30 our order was taken. The Calamari starters were nice; however, I ordered the mushroom bruschetta that consisted of one soggy piece of bread with rubbery mushrooms.

The steaks were undercooked and the peppercorn sauce was tasteless and over seasoned. I fail to see how this restaurant can place itself in the category of fine dining when the food and service were equally questionable.
