Situated on the slopes of Quantock Hills near Bridgewater in Somerset, The Castle of Comfort is a 17th century coaching inn, a little distance from the Minehead seaside resort and Blue Anchor Bay. The restaurant within this idyllic country house is frequented by locals, tourists as well as residents from the nearby towns. It has a very intimate and cosy atmosphere which is simple and understated, with elegant furniture, carpeted floors and plenty of natural light. The food is also fresh and comprises a host of British delicacies.

The a la carte menu comprises of dishes of smoked duck and mango salad with balsamic raspberry and Rioja dressing; marinated beetroot with grilled Somerset goats' cheese; and grilled fillet of red mullet with an aubergine pesto salad which can be had as starters. Mains consist of honey glazed breast of duckling with apple and pink peppercorn sauce, and grilled fillet of sea bass with honeyed sesame courgettes.

Desserts comprise the delectable chocolate and pistachio tart with Baileys ice cream and warm baked apple calvados pancakes with local clotted cream and toffee sauce.
