Cauldron Bistro Description

Whilst the restaurant lists itself as of the French persuasion when it comes to cuisine it seems more likely that what really draws people to this little West Country bistro is the quality and range of the fresh fish. What comes in on the boat is what you get so don't go with any preconceptions beyond that it will be fishy and good. Lobster, grilled Dover sole, king scallops, crab and prawns are all likely to make appearances, generally presented in simple form with the exotica saved for the puddings which, unlike some seafood restaurants are anything but an afterthought. House wines from £10.95.

Your Reviews of Cauldron Bistro

Roma Ordish (6 September 2009)

This is by far the best restaurant in Swanage. The food is so well cooked and presented. Whenever we go to Swanage we hope to get a table, it gets booked up quickly as its only open Thursday lunch to Sunday. The chef Terry is an exciting cook and his flavours are great. Good wine list and service and I look forward to going back there.

Pete & Ali (18 May 2009)

We had lunch there Friday. As we were initially the only people in, I can’t comment on the service. The inside of the restaurant was inviting and charming. The menu on bits of paper was quirky, why they don’t just print it on a sheet I don’t know? We chose from the lunch special menu and the dishes were good and well presented. We would definitely go back again.
