Whilst the restaurant lists itself as of the French persuasion when it comes to cuisine it seems more likely that what really draws people to this little West Country bistro is the quality and range of the fresh fish. What comes in on the boat is what you get so don't go with any preconceptions beyond that it will be fishy and good. Lobster, grilled Dover sole, king scallops, crab and prawns are all likely to make appearances, generally presented in simple form with the exotica saved for the puddings which, unlike some seafood restaurants are anything but an afterthought. We have visited Swanage twice, and the Cauldron Bistro is our favourite place to have a meal. The owners are delightful and Terry's food is fresh, delicious and perfectly cooked!

This is by far the best restaurant in Swanage. The food is so well cooked and presented. Whenever we go to Swanage we hope to get a table, it gets booked up quickly as its only open Thursday lunch to Sunday. The chef Terry is an exciting cook and his flavours are great. Good wine list and service and I look forward to going back there.
