Cedar Restaurant Description
This new Lebanese restaurant has a wonderfully warm décor in the form of rich orange walls, soft romantic lighting and a sea of cushions along the banquette style seating for maximum comfort. On the menu you'll find a host of Lebanese specials. Mezze style dishes will give you a good selection from across the menu but you can expect dishes such as fattoush, a salad with crunchy pieces of toasted pitta, or grilled haloumi before moving onto the likes of char-grilled chicken, or a hearty mixed grill. After such a filling first and second course or vast array of mezze, most diners find that a piece of baklava and a Lebanese coffee is dessert enough.

I went to Cedar restaurant last night looking forward to trying out this quaint little restaurant around the corner, but was disappointed. The customer service was slow - starters plates were removed twenty minutes after we finished. The main course arrived an hour after starters were served. We were not offered more drinks whilst we waited for our mains. Drinks and mains were overpriced.

We've been going to the absolute gem of a restaurant for a few years now - and it just seems to improve with age. Well hosted, a carefully chosen menu, quick - but not over fast - service and the range of tastes. Well, either hot or cold dishes give an absolute distinct flavour, which lasts with you for a long time. We often buy three dishes each, share them, but would kill for the two sausage dishes that are a must. Proper hummus, homemade tsatsiki and salads that tingle! The menu is extensive with a large choice of hot and cold mezze, with main courses of traditional grilled meats, kebabs and fish, if you wish. There is also a good wine list - I'd recommend trying the St Thomas" Lebanese red wine, which is warm and deep or a cold glass of Lebanese beer. Drink the wine slowly so that you feel mellow! Prices will not harm your pocket - you can eat well for £13-14 per head, I promise. But if you want to have a blow out, well, up to £35 per head including drinks and service. But, whatever, it is well worth the money as the quality of food is fantastic.
