Ceylon Spice Company Description
Owners Neil and Samantha Brown may have different business backgrounds but their common love for food heralded the birth of Ceylon Spice Company. Traditional murals, artefacts and candles accentuate the retro chic feel and the décor comes courtesy of the lady herself.
Indian cuisine is by now proverbial to those in the west but Sri Lankan food still remains a mystery to many. Novices will find the menu to be helpfully descriptive, so start with some pan-fried chilli squid and devilled pork fillets. The delicious lamprias, which was originally created by the Dutch colonists, consists of rice, chicken curry, fish cutlets, aubergine, egg and plantain all wrapped and slowly baked in a banana leaf, and is mind-stunningly gorgeous.
Indian dishes make their presence felt with chicken mughlai, matar paneer, sweet peas cooked in a delicate sauce with cottage cheese and Goan pork vindaloo. Desserts include falooda, a Turkish delight that blends chilled milk with rose water, vanilla ice cream, basil seeds and ice.

We have been visiting this restaurant since it opened and have not had a bad meal. Try it for yourself and you will not be disappointed, if you think it may be to 'spicy' there are a variety of dishes that will suit your taste, added to that the attention given by the staff and you will have a truly memorable culinary experience. But keep it to yourself otherwise everyone will find out.

We had a first class meal, definitely a cut above the regular Indian Restaurant. The Sri Lankan menu is a must to try, too. The décor and service are also excellent. We fully recommend it.
