Chaophraya - Manchester Description
Chaophraya, probably Yorkshire's finest Thai restaurant, and certainly one of Leeds's most popular venues opened in Manchester in November 2006. The modern and luxurious restaurant and bar specialises in top quality Thai food, and unrivalled levels of service in sumptuous, relaxing surroundings, offering something different to the abundance of mainstream restaurants in the city.
Chaophraya is located on the corner of Chapel Walks and Pall Mall, above Sam's Chop House. It features a one hundred and twenty cover a la carte restaurant and a two hundred capacity bar with a welcoming and relaxed approach to modern eating, featuring quality food, served with a refreshingly genuine smile.
It is an excellent location for any occasion from a quick lunch to an evening meal. You can also get a taste of luxury Thai style lounging in comfort and the opportunity to embed yourself in the Thai Style Luxury seating area on the ground floor.
For something a little different at lunchtime why not try the Yee Rah Sizzler Grill which offers a delicious and fun lunchtime experience? Simply choose your ingredients from the vast variety available and relax as their chefs prepare a lunchtime delicacy before your eyes. If a more serious business lunch is on the agenda, then head upstairs and sample Chaophraya's full menu.
Once darkness falls, Chaophraya comes into its element. Enjoy a pre-meal drink downstairs in the buzzy Yee Rah bar before heading upstairs for the Chaophraya experience.
Based on the foundation of a healthy lifestyle, Chaophraya use only the freshest Thai ingredients and provide not only a treat or the taste buds, but a sense of well being for the body. The key ingredients of Thai food all have medicinal benefits; galangal is known to assist in digestion and relieve arthritic pain; lemongrass is proven to relieve cold and flu symptoms while chillies can aid a restful night's sleep, and keep your heart healthy.
Share some tempting appetisers before indulging in Thai Fisherman's soup; a flavoursome hot and sour broth - ideal for seafood lovers. Choosing your main course will pose a challenge for the indecisive. Tender lamb chops with mango, stir-fried rock lobster with black pepper sauce, or a more conventional creamy paneang curry.
For special occasions you could ring ahead and book their Tuk Tuk to come and collect you. The infamous three wheeled taxi, one of only a handful in the UK, is certainly Manchester's first.
