Chapel, The Description
One of the original gastro-pubs, this restaurant with its stripped wood floors, wooden furniture and well-prepared food seems to provide a winning formula. The menu is chalked on a board and changes, not only day to day, but sometimes hour to hour, depending on the produce that the kitchen has purchased, with some unusual raw materials from bison steak to marlin, and they turn out adventurous dishes like goat's cheese terrine with braised celery or vegetarian gnocchi with artichoke hearts and Parmesan cream! Invariably busy, I hear the wines are also of interest, quite reasonably priced, with eight by the glass.
