Charles Halle Restaurant

The Bridgewater Hall, Lower Mosley Street, Manchester, M2 3WS

This new restaurant is now established having created a good name for itself from the outset. They open from 5.30 pm daily to cater for the pre-events and you can pre-book when ordering your tickets. The cuisine is 'safe British' which is not to say that the odd spot of adventurous living does not crop up here and there. But in the main it is very recognisable, immaculately prepared dishes such as pan-fried calves liver with fresh mango, Madeira sauce and dauphinoise potato and a vanilla and rhubarb bavarois with honey-roasted fig. The wine list is exemplary and illustrates only too well the close relationship between good music and fine wines. Several by the glass or half bottle and all good value.

REVIEWS OF Charles Halle Restaurant

Rosie (6 March 2011)

Nice, quiet ambience. So, I was able to talk with guest. Service is satisfactory.

Stevenson (26 May 2008)

Our table for last Saturday was booked in the name of Ravenscroft. We were disappointed with the main course of Cajun lamb, which was virtually cold when served. Could it also be brought to the attention of the management that the first half of the Glenn Miller Concert was spoilt due to the faulty sound system. It was disappointing as the Bridgewater Hall is famed for its acoustics. I look forward to receiving your comments in due course.
