Very unique in its setting, Charters Pub is housed in a long Dutch barge moored on the River Nene in Peterborough. This tastefully converted floating barge has the pub on the lower deck, with an Oriental restaurant on the upper deck. It features a vast mellowly-lit wooden chamber, with all the cosy feel of being below decks, but none of the claustrophobia of being beneath the waterline. There is also music played in the background with occasional nights of live performances.

Probably the one thing the pub is famous for, are the real ales, with the bar being called the largest floating empire of real ales in Great Britain featuring curious names such as Deck the Halls, Crazy daze and Bishop's Farewell. This is the single feature that attracts large number of people from far and wide. Together with this, is the variety of pub grub which is on offer and guests can exercise the option of visiting the restaurant upstairs.
