Chepstow, The

The Chepstow received a rather dramatic facelift in October 2002 when it was taken over by the Thomas & Carter group, since then its popularity has continued to soar. It's a great traditional looking pub from the outside, whereas the interior has a very funky feel to it, with loads of comfy old leather sofas to chill out on.

Food is served throughout the day at The Chepstow, making for a relaxed and unhurried atmosphere. Whilst it's popular for Sunday brunch, quality sandwiches and snacks, or just a mid morning coffee, the evening meals are when the Chepstow really comes into its own. Dishes on offer include the likes of Toulouse sausage and truffle mash, Moroccan spiced Welsh lamb with lemon infused sweet potato mash, or sautéed red mullet served with mixed pulse pilaf and beurre blanc. Mains cost around the £10 mark, whilst desserts such as decadent baked cheesecake are also worthy of your attention.
