Chez Jules is settling in and some changes have already been made to this former fire station. A new space upstairs has been included, complete with its own bar, although the overall bistro-style decor has changed very little. The menu is changed daily with about six starters and the same number of mains. Chez Jules has established itself as a firm favourite with the local fraternity, which may not be entirely disassociated from the easy prices.

There is a good buzzy atmosphere, helped by cheerful and efficient staff. Such dishes as salmon with lobster sauce are served with confidence and evidence of precise work in the kitchen. Given even the present standards, Chez Jules seems set for a bright future, though one has the feeling that they have more cards up their sleeve yet. The relatively small, though adequate, wine list might well be amongst them.
