Francis O'Neill was a much loved and respected police chief who devoted much of his life to his intense passion for the traditional music of his native Ireland. All-Ireland musicians Brendan and Siobhan McKinney opened Chief O'Neill's Pub in the fall of 1999 with a vision to celebrate Chief O'Neill's life, his achievements, and to keep his musical tradition alive and well in Chicago. The charming pub and restaurant offers banqueting facilities, a relaxing beer garden, and private rooms to hosts special events such as birthdays and weddings. There are appetizers of Blasket Island crab cakes, Irish potato skins stuffed with bacon, cheddar cheese, and scallions; curry chips, and a lovely Guinness and cheddar soup. Mains rest on the able shoulders of O'Neill's signature fish and chips, shepherd's pie, bangers and mash, and an Irish lamb stew.
Sign off with homemade pumpkin bread pudding, and maybe some traditional Irish hot toddy or classic Irish coffee.
