I was pleasantly surprised by this unassuming restaurant. The service was prompt and friendly. The menu had extensive choices, and alongside the usual Indian dishes were various Goan dishes. We chose their Goan specialties - tasty and beautifully spiced. Every dish was distinct and interesting. They offer excellent value for money.

Although not set in the most attractive part of Brighton, the Chilka House has always provided a warm welcome whenever I have visited. Primarily, Goan cuisine is the order of the day, with daily specials on the board - a variety of fish normally being available. The menu has two parts, with the Goan specialities at the back. I last visited it on 17/01/08, when my companions declared themselves well pleased with the food.
