Chino Latino - Nottingham
41 Maid Marian Way, Nottingham, NG1 6GD
Chino Latino's 'logo' is a pair of red chillies, which goes some way towards explaining their international label. A fusion of Far East with modern Japanese might be more specific, but when it comes to drink one of their hottest items is Sherwood Dragon, a blend of sake, lime and ginger. For starters try the miso soup made with a thick, salty, nutty red bean paste, the Chicharone fish fritters or the Edamame with black bean sauce. The Japanese influence is not long in making itself felt and a presentation of mixed seafood tempura is always popular, closely followed by the black cod tempura. Dim sum, sashimi, ceviches and sushi rolls all offer good selections with oyster shooters a steady favourite.Chino Latino's 'logo' is a pair of red chillies, which goes some way towards explaining their international label. Under the general heading of grills and thrills there is a fillet of beef served with a trio of sauces, truffle, chilli jam and plum wine teriyaki sauce, delightful slow-cooked spare ribs with sweet potato and grilled chicken with mango and tamarind sauce. A special treat is the jungle curry with lobster, shrimp and scallops, served in a half lobster shell with rice skewers and be sure not to ignore the green tea soba noodles.
The range of tastes and twists on more conventional presentations as offered at Chino Latino is worthy of an appreciative clientele and the signs are that this is happening both here in Nottingham and at their other outlets in Leeds and London.

REVIEWS OF Chino Latino - Nottingham
Elliot (4 August 2009)
A work colleague and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal there. The crowd is cool and the atmosphere is buzzing. The waitress Lizy introduced herself, talked us through the menu and was very helpful with the advice, when it came to choosing the dishes. The cocktails were tasty but took quite a long time to make as the bar appeared to be busy. However our wine glasses were never empty, continually being topped up by the staff. The only other negative about our meal at the restaurant was it was quite hard to concentrate on the delicious food we were eating whilst being served by Lizy, one of the most beautiful and intelligent waitresses you are likely to ever come across. The triple chocolate fondant for dessert was sublime. The meal came up to £ 150 that included two courses each and a shared dessert with coffee, one of the more expensive bottles of wine and a cocktail each. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone and consider it to be undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in Nottingham and I'm well accustomed to eating out in this city.

This is by far the best restaurant that we have ever eaten at, the range of food is truly inspired and we were not disappointed by any course. It has a great buzz and you feel like you are worlds away. The staff are very attentive and are always there to top up your wine. It’s not the cheapest of places it cost £100 for the two of us, but we did have three courses, a bottle of wine and coffee to end, but I’m sure you could make it cheaper. This is a must for anyone who has an interest in food and dining. I will definitely be going back.
