Church Green, The

Not very impressed - we went to The Church Green on Saturday and were told that Aiden was away and how that showed. We had to wait 45 minutes for the starter which arrived only after we asked where it was. We weren't offered any bread whilst we were waiting. The same thing happened with the main course, only the wait was about 1 hour, and again it only arrived after we asked. The food was fairly good but not to the standard we expected and was really expensive. The staff were friendly and helpful but this didn't make up for the wait. When we finally got the bill we had been charged for an item we hadn't had. We won't be returning.

I have also had the pleasure of eating Aiden Byrnes food. I was so happy to hear that Aiden was back North as it was out of my price bracket to be able to eat at the Dorchester. I have eaten at The Church 6 times now and every visit gets better from the food to the service an also the decor which is changing every week. It's great to eat food with so many different tastes in each mouthful. Aiden has been out to talk to us when he came over to personally sign his book for us, what a lovely guy. I wish him and his partner Sarah the best of luck with their venture and hope that they stay for a long time.
