Ciao has earned itself a reputation for serving flavoursome Italian food within just a year of opening its doors in Hull. The cosy, family owned bistro provides a setting that is ideal for intimate meals for two but still large enough to host parties and get-togethers in a relaxed atmosphere and it is now open for six days a week.

You could pop in after work and relax over a glass of Italian wine or visit them for a full-blown gastronomic extravaganza. The menu blends classic fare with exciting modern day Mediterranean delights and could begin with mussels cooked in shallots, garlic, parsley and white wine. For main course, there are numerous choices which include escalope of veal cooked in mushroom sauce or chicken breast cooked with fresh peppers.

Of course, being an Italian bistro, Ciao serves a range of pizzas and pasta dishes all created in-house. The range of desserts is decadent with fresh lemon ice cream with swirls of lemon liqueur sauce topping the list.
