City Cafe at The City Inn - Glasgow

City Café Glasgow is a destination restaurant on Finnieston Quay, Head chef, Richard Lyth, has been at the helm since it opened and within 12 months the restaurant was voted Best Newcomer to the city by the Restaurateurs Association.

Lyth showcases his culinary skills with City Café's modern European menus, all with tasty vegetarian options. The à la carte features a mix of the modern and traditional with starters such as grilled sea bream served with leek and saffron salad, crème fraîche and avruga caviar; and mains including wood pigeon supreme with creamed leeks, confit mushrooms and shallots, fondant potato and cêpe sauce.

The 'Kitchen' menu represents excellent value for money at £11.50 for two courses at lunch and £16.50 for three courses at lunch and dinner. This menu changes daily and showcases the kitchen's skills and creativity as well as the best in seasonal produce.

Both menus are complemented by a strong New and Old World wine list, all reasonably priced with the house selection at £12.50 and many in the mid price range, between £15 and £20. Wine connoisseurs will appreciate fine wines such as Amarone Della Valpolicella, 1999 at £32.50 as well as the range of vintage champagnes and dessert wines.

City Café has been designed to provide a dining backdrop that delivers on style without being a slave to fashion. Floor to ceiling glass windows create a light and airy atmosphere and complements the restaurant's contemporary dining area.

During the summer months, al fresco diners can spill out on to the fabulous 60 cover water front terrace, making City Café a perfect place to enjoy summer dining, whatever the occasion.
